ASDL where art thou?

Our internet remains out of action but the residency has finally come to an end. Laughable presentation yesterday afternoon, even the tutor didn't want to be there. I watched the TV series House for the first time last night perhaps it was Hugh Laurie winning a golden globe that inspired the interest. It is very good but it got me thinking about the increase in the publics' medical awareness. The advent of the internet and popularity of ER, CSI and other media-dramas are heavily responsible.

Friend's birthday dinner at Carluccio's on Friday. I had never been and the Italian food was very good with a rarity, overzealous waiting staff. Perhaps it was because our party was large. Later on we went to a posh bar. It's a musing trying to spot the women post plastic surgery and count the number of porsches/jaguars parked outside. Early to bed because I am a granny and going to hairdressers Saturday morning. Got a prank call on Saturday night. Tip for the few weirdo males out there, if you really find someone attractive be honest rather than acting like a freak who needs a restraining order against them.

We resumed paediatrics back at the main hospital. I await the pre-exam fear and freak-out. Elective planning is still in it's infancy despite my appointment for a Chest X-Ray and routine bleeding for antibody titres. My unease was not helped by a stern and pessimistic warning from several people in the year above who just returned from their travels. I have a sore-throat-dry- cough thing probably a gift from the wards or out patients.
